Zoom Tips

The 'zoom' service is reasonably simple to use but there are many features which, at first, can make it seem confusing. Here are a few tips to get you started. (Note: we will add to this as we get more experience and feedback)

You can choose audio only or video. Video makes it quite fun and more inclusive as everyone can react to other speakers including clapping, waving, thumbs up etc. It's up to you. There are no rules.

For Computers
The first time you click on the link for the zoom meeting, it will download a small program which is used to join the meeting. It will be a separate pop up window. After the first time, the process of joining the meeting is very quick.

  • You will need the 9 digit meeting ID to join
  • Turn MUTE ON so that you can listen but not talk
  • Turn MUTE OFF when sharing
  • Please RAISE YOUR HAND to get the hosts attention

For smartphones and tablets using the 'zoom' app
